Genius.AI is a powerful tool that learns about your products and services in various ways, creating a detailed Product Avatar. This Avatar highlights your product’s pain points, unique selling points, and how it outshines competitors.
Video Walkthrough
Genius.AI uses this data to craft engaging posts and content, supporting interactions in Copilot and on social media (comments & DMs).
This guide will walk you through adding new products to Genius.AI using your existing websites, marketing materials, or by copying and pasting contextual information.
Let's get started!
1. Navigate to 'My Products'
First, go to the 'My Products' tab in the top navigation menu, as shown here.
On the next page, click the '+ New Product' button.
2. Select the preferred Learning Method
Genius.AI can learn about your products in two ways:
A) In-Depth Learning:
- Uses your existing website and marketing materials.
- Ideal for comprehensive learning about your content.
- Supports websites, PDFs, and DOCX files.
B) Quick Learning:
- Uses text material you copy-paste.
- Good results, but may require fine-tuning for optimal learning.
Choose your preferred method and proceed to the next step.
Option A - "In-Depth"
Fill in the following fields:
- Product Category: Organizes your Products list.
- Product Name: Helps the AI find relevant information.
- Product Website (optional): URL for the shop where people can buy the product.
- Product Image (optional): Upload an image for the My Products page
Next, provide the content for the AI to read and learn about your product/service.
Train from Websites
To train Genius.AI on information from a website you must provide one or more publicly accessible websites in the "Train from Websites" area.
Note: you can add multiple websites or pages by clicking the + button next to "Train from Websites." to train Genius.AI.
For example, by giving to the AI the "https://www.genius.ai" web page, the AI will read the home page and consider that the information about Genius.AI as a product.
However, if I give to the AI https://www.genius.ai" and "https://www.genius.ai/affiliate-program" it will learn about Genius.AI as a product, but also be informed on its affiliate program.
You can even use Pricing pages, Terms of Service, Policies to further train the AI on how your product is sold, shipping policies, pricing, discounts, and more.
Our advice is to always provide the AI:
- A page that explains your product in detail, including pricing information
- A page containing any reviews, case studies, or product testimonials (it can be the same page as above)
- A page explaining about the maker of the product, or the company, or the history of the company
- A page describing any relevant Terms & Conditions, Return and/or Guarantee information, and any relevant shipping information
This will allow the AI to create a compelling profile of your product with all the related information needed to inspire your prospects to buy.
Note: The AI extracts ONLY text from websites you provide, so avoid using websites where key information is contained within images.
Train from PDF and Word Files
This option can be used in conjunction with the Train from Websites option, to upload the PDF files or the DOCX files you have that explain your products, services, company, or policies.
Please Note: Again, the AI does not read imagery within your PDF or Word files, but extracts the text to gather knowledge. Make sure not to use image-heavy PDFs/Word files where the image contains the key knowledge.
Time to Learn!
Once you have filled all of the information you have about your product, simply hit "Save" and Genius.AI will start processing information and learning about your product.
You will notice a card is created in your "My Products" page which is grayed out (see image at the top).
Once the AI has finished processing, your product will be visible and a button will appear to open your product. (image below)
Troubleshooting
- The AI fails to read my website saying there is a problem: This can happen for multiple reasons, your website might not be accessible by the AI, it might be protected against scraping or bots or it might have been temporarily unavailable. You can have another try by clicking the "Edit" button, or provide alternative sources for the AI to learn from.
- The AI generated a compelling description of my product however, some fields say "PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION": The AI will use all of the knowledge it has available from the content you have provided in order to write a profile of your product, if some information is missing, the AI will revert back to you to answer that specific portion, you can add that information manually and then click "Save Info" in order to make sure the AI learns the new information and uses it in its posting.
Option B - "Quick"
Enter all of your products information into the 'Description' field by either manually typing or copy & pasting all relevant information.
Enter any reviews, case studies, or testimonials you have for the product into 'Testimonials'.
With just this information, Genius.AI can create a product profile that identifies the product's ideal buyer, their pain points, and exactly how the product works to solve that buyers problems - all in less than a minute.
As an example, in the image below, I'm creating new product that will be called "Vitamin D Softgel Supplement". I've added a bunch of information into the 'Description Field' and reviews and testimonials into the 'Testimonials' field.
A quick heads up! The more information you give Genius.AI in the Description and Testimonials field, the better your product avatar and future outputs will be. So we recommend adding as much information as you can here.
3. (Optional) Using Groups and Product Categories
What are the those other two fields, you say?
The 'Product Category' field allows you to define what high-level category your new product exists within and also makes it easier for you to find it later within Genius.AI.
Think of it like being at a grocery store - where would you go to find shampoo? The cosmetics section, right? The 'Product Category' is like the 'virtual aisle' your new product will live within. No need to overthink this, just select the category that works best for you (don't worry, you can always come back and edit this later on the same 'My Products' page!)
The 'Shared With' option allows you to define who the product is shared with, if anyone at all. The default setting here is 'Keep Private' which means your new product is only available to you. But, with the power of Groups, you can also make your new product usable to any of the Groups you've already created (click here to learn more about Groups and how to create them).
To share a product with a group, first select 'Groups' from the 'Shared With' dropdown menu.
Then, in the new 'Groups' selection area that appears, click to highlight the groups you wish to share your product with.
For example, in the image below I'd be sharing my new product with my 'My Downline' and 'My Family' groups, but not 'My Dog, Toto' (sorry, Toto).
Again, don't worry about getting this right if you're unsure what to group(s) to select right now. You can always come back and edit this later on the same 'My Products' page.
Once complete, you'll be notified, and you should see your new product available in the "What do you want to sell?" dropdown on your Genius.AI dashboard.
And from here on out, it will be usable across all outputs, Social Media Integrations, and the Genius.AI co-pilot!
4. Open your Product and admire your Product Profile
Your Product Profile is a detailed description of your product unique selling points, how it beats competition, the pain points it addresses and much more. It's used by the AI as the knowledge base of your product that will power all the Product posts, the knowledge in the Copilot as well as the knowledge in the Social media you bring in through our Social Media Integrations.
Have a look at your Product profile and ensure it's correct. Sometimes the AI might ask you to fill out some missing information. Make sure to do so and click "Save Info" once you are done!
